Women's History Month 2024

Women 校友 Spotlight
Gina Gallo Zivojnovic
During the COVID pandemic, 来自榆木公园的Gina Gallo Zivojnovic找到了实现学业目标的灵感. Like so many other Americans, 她认为这将是一个很好的时间来完成她的副学士学位，同时在家陪她的两个儿子, Dominic and Carmine.

“成为特里顿学院第一支女子篮球队的一员是一段了不起的经历,” said Virginia Hodges, a member of the college’s inaugural women’s basketball team. She played from 1974-1975.
除了霍奇斯，过去50年的校友也参加了庆祝活动. The anniversary marks a significant milestone for Triton, considering Title IX was passed in 1972, 允许国会法律为女子体育运动提供财政支持. 特里顿学院第一支女子篮球队成立于1974年.

Becky Hull Davis of Brookfield, who played for Triton from 1991-1993, reflected on the legacy of her late father, 丹·赫尔教练.

Coach Hull’s wife, Mary-Margaret Hull of Brookfield, said her late husband “genuinely loved basketball,” which is what made him such an influential coach.

Madison had similar sentiments.
“Coach Tim advocated for me,” added Madison. “He believed in me and trusted me with this program. I hope that I’ve made him proud.”
Coach Tim’s guidance paid off. Chavarria tallied 1,029 career points, 为她赢得了特里顿女子篮球历史上第二高得分王的头衔. 查瓦里亚还在2016年和2017年获得了Triton的年度女运动员奖.
麦迪逊在2015年被评为Triton年度最佳女运动员，并以980分的职业生涯得分排名第四.
“It feels amazing that I’m a part of history,” noted Madison.
